I wanted from an early age to have the ability to create and share the joy that creative arts gave to me. I was inspired by artists, animators, cartoonists, painters, illustrators, designers, musicians, authors and comedians. Storytelling and artwork were activities that I did for enjoyment, but with an intent to improve.

My artwork is focused on narrative storytelling and humor.

Tell us a little bit about your practice as a maker.

I thrive when I have time away from the buzzing, dinging, bleeping, of notifications with a chunk of quiet, uninterrupted time. I struggle when I am immersed in the former, attempting to create amidst all of the pebbles of modern daily life being dropped on my head.

Where do you thrive, where do you struggle?

Who/what influences you?

I am influenced by humor, wit and creative people. People like Charles Schulz, Chuck Jones, Margaret Bloy Graham, Syd Hoff, Shel Silverstein, Dr. Seuss and contemporaries like Ryan T. Higgins and Ross Burach. I could go on, I really like the sense of humor that is infused into their stories and artwork.

What is one intention you have for your practice this year?

This year my goal is to complete some additional artwork and manuscripts for my agent to submit to publishers.
