A 10-Day Workshop with Laurie Doctor in Gelnhausen, Germany • June 13 – 22, 2005

The act of writing is full of pleasure that increases with skill. We will explore lettering through a collection of writing implements and a series of experiments based on rhythmical writing patterns, music and poetry. Each student will begin with their own handwriting as a place of departure.

This workshop is part of a series that investigates the ways that the universal elements of line, pattern and texture, as they are found in landscape, can be reflected through writing, drawing and painting.
Students will make journals of their work.
