A Week-Long Workshop with Laurie Doctor at Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu, New Mexico • May 14 – 20, 2005

The act of writing is full of pleasure that increases with skill. We will explore lettering through a collection of writing implements and a series of experiments based on rhythmical writing patterns, music and poetry. Each student will begin with their own handwriting as a place of departure.

This workshop is part of a series that investigates the ways that the universal elements of line, pattern and texture, as they are found in landscape, can be reflected through writing, drawing and painting.
Students will make journals of their work.

There will be an opening ceremony with Jorge Calderon.

Date: May 14 thru May 20, 2005
Time: From 5 pm on Saturday ‘til noon on Friday
Place: Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu, New Mexico
Fees:  $1200 includes room, meals & workshop fee

There will be a $20 materials fee payable to the instructor at the time of the workshop.
A list of simple materials to bring will be sent to participants after registering.
