All the fancy tools and techniques in the world won't help us become the artists we wish to be, live the life we want to live, if we don't have something that transcends chaos, change and loss. A daily practice is a vehicle for both expanding and deepening the work you are here to do. A practice can be many things– one common thread is time away from duty, and a designated place where we are not interrupted, that is sacred. The imagination, our intuition needs to be cultivated– in the same way you make a muscle stronger.
This time, which often includes a profound sense of "not knowing", is as important as the time of knowing.
In this class we will enter the temenos, the protected place of our making, and invoke the muse, our imagination and inner imagery. The class will be structured with periods of silence and guided exercises in writing and calligraphy.
